For a change, the French Baseball, Softball and Baseball5 Federation’s Annual General Meeting will take place outside Paris. It’s this Saturday, March 16th in Bordeaux (Talence), starting at 3 PM, and will be broadcast live on social media and via video conference.
This year is special as it marks the end of one Olympic cycle and the start of a new one. This means elections for the executive committee members will take place in November 2024, and all Presidents and Vice-Presidents will be renewed. Voting rules have also been adapted, meaning the ballot will be by list (like our municipal elections). The first elements of preparation will be discussed during this ordinary general assembly.
The meeting will also be an opportunity to review the year 2023. The President, Treasurer, and National Technical Director will each present their reports. This year, the budget shows a deficit, which hasn’t happened in a long time. The 2024 preliminary budget is therefore very tight, with many cuts made.
2024 will be a year with fewer international competitions due to the Olympic Games organization, allowing for savings. It will also be the occasion to celebrate the Federation’s 100th anniversary, which, according to the budget, may not be very significant. We will summarize this AG next week.
