A new professional baseball league was born in 2022 and will kick off its championship this November with four teams.
This is Baseball United, headquartered in Dubai. Two teams in Arabia, one in India, and one in Pakistan will face off in a championship featuring players from all over the world.

Like football, this league will welcome retired players with golden contracts from around the globe. With salaries that will make anyone’s head spin, we’ll see players over 35 years old, or even older, coming to put on a show.

A draft has just taken place, and among the names are some big winners in the petrodollar lottery, such as Bartolo Colon (who’s still pitching at 50!) or David Huff. Other well-known names, though considered retired, include Didi Gregorius, Pablo Sandoval, and Rusney Castillo.

The owner of the Baseball United franchise, Kash Shaikh, expressed his thoughts: « After nearly two years of work across the continent, we can now make this league a reality for our players. I couldn’t be happier to give these guys a new opportunity to build, grow, and extend their professional careers. »

Four teams: the Wolves, the Cobras, the Monarchs, and the Falcons will, like the gods of the stadium, offer all the businessmen involved in this venture great investments in the world of sports entertainment.
The season will start next November. The inaugural showcase of Baseball United will take place on November 24th and 25th in Dubai. This All-Star event will feature two Baseball United All-Star teams playing a two-game series at the iconic Dubai International Stadium. The two games will showcase some of the best professional baseball players in the world, with festivities throughout the week celebrating the core values of Baseball United.

An air-conditioned stadium next to Dubai’s ski slope—more like a refrigerated one—a true spectacle for tourists and locals, wealthy or not. Tickets range from €14 to €1,300. At €52, you’re in the line of the batter’s box; at €1,300, you have access to the stadium and the players even during the game, and you’re housed in the fall ball zone (near first and third base) in protected cabins. The choice is yours!
