The Women’s European Baseball Championship begins this Wednesday, August 3rd, and runs until Saturday, August 7th.
This is only the second time this competition has been held, bringing together the best players—often softball stars—who love the thrill of playing on the big field with a baseball.

France is the reigning European women’s baseball champion. The team defeated the Netherlands 5-2 in the final of the first edition of the competition on August 3, 2019, in Rouen. The French team qualified for the World Cup, which was scheduled for September 2020 in Mexico. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the event. The French team will defend their title and must win again this year to secure another World Cup qualification.

This competition will take place in Montpellier. The participating nations are: Great Britain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and France.
After three matches against the other teams, the top two will face off in the final on Saturday, August 7th, at 1:00 PM.

Globally, women’s baseball is growing rapidly. France cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. This competition must shine a light to inspire young female players to get involved in baseball and ensure softball isn’t their only option.
All matches will be broadcast and streamed on Baseball TV France
