The results speak for themselves. The Comanches de Saint-Raphaël dominate this French Softball Challenge with an impressive authority. Three games, three resounding victories: 15-0 against Colombes, 24-4 against Grenoble and 10-0 against Nice. Three matches concluded under the mercy rule, proof of the total domination of the Raphaëloises, capable of bending their opponents in only three or four innings. Unsurprisingly, the Comanches get their ticket for the final this afternoon.
On the other hand, Évry also confirmed its status as a title contender. The Pharaonnes started their tournament perfectly with a comprehensive mercy rule win against Nice, who were struggling to get their Challenge de France underway. They then had to work hard twice against Pessac to reach the final. The first match, which was closely contested, finally tipped in Évry’s favour after a well-played final set. On Sunday, the two teams met again and once again, the Pharaonnes came out on top after a tight 5-3 victory.
Conversely, Grenoble and Colombes missed the mark. A poor performance that allowed Nice to pull off a surprise. Despite being in great difficulty in the league with a record of 14 defeats and zero wins, the Cavigals can still achieve an unexpected third place on Monday. The Nice players have indeed managed to win twice against Pessac and then Colombes, confirming once again that the Challenge does not always obey the logic of the league.
The program for this Pentecost Monday promises a spectacular last day. At 10:30, Nice and Pessac will face each other in the small final for the third place, with the prospect of a particularly disputed duel. Then, at 14:00, the highly anticipated showdown between Évry and Saint-Raphaël will take place for the grand finale of the Challenge de France.
Both matches will be broadcast live on the Baseball TV France application: the first via the federation’s YouTube channel, the second on the Sport en France TNT channel.
